“Compañía Nacional de Danza keeps on moving forward towards its target of opening the range of styles and therefore, during next season 2012/2013 it  will offer a very wide variety of pieces contemporary and neoclassical, big names in XX century choreography, young but reputed Spanish creators and a program in June for Teatro de la Zarzuela de Madrid, under the title “CND on points” that will include this element historically associated to classical dance, as a common point of an evening in which we could appreciate point shoes in very different registers and styles.
The season will start with three premiere of young Spanish choreographers. Babylon, by Arantxa Sagardoy and Alfredo Bravo will be world premiered in Barcelona (Mercat de les Flors) and in Madrid (Matadero) it will be the moment of Demodé, by Iván Pérez, and Unsound, by Juanjo Arqués; three premieres of these creators who have already succeeded inside and outside our borders.
Duo by Ben Stevenson, 3 preludes, with music of Rachmaninov will be included in CND repertoire and in April, we will be premiereing Goyo Montero’s Romeo y Julieta, in Teatro Real, Madrid. The director and choreographer of the Nuremberg Opera Ballet will restage his creation for CND, in a spectacular setting which will bring his style and particular imaginative world to the Spanish audiences.
To all these premieres we will sum up pieces that already exist in CND repertoire: Extremely Close, by Alejandro Cerrudo; Walking Mad, by Johan Inger; In transit, by Annabelle López Ochoa; Scarlatti ‘Pas de deux’, by José Carlos Martínez; Holberg Suite, by Tony Fabre and the pieces by Jirí Kylián Sleepless and Petite Mort”
